Chaucer’s Retreat is a lower ground floor apartment in the expertly converted former Chaucer House Hotel, a local heritage building located directly opposite St John’s Church in the heart of Keswick. Sleeping two, it is a large apartment with its own private entrance and car parking space.

The apartment is accessed via its own private entrance at the back of Chaucer House. It has a hallway and cloak area and steps down into a spacious apartment with views of Latrigg and beyond from the lounge/diner window.

It is equipped to the highest standard. The fully fitted kitchen, has a dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and fan assisted oven and a variety of high quality kitchen utensils and crockery. There is also a utility area are with a washer dryer. The large open plan lounge and dining area has a Smart TV, DVD player, leather suit, coffee table, book case and a dining table with seating for two.

The bedroom has a king size bed, double wardrobe, chest of drawers and hair dryer. There is a full bathroom next to the bedroom with bath, sink and toilet and there is also a separate shower room and toilet. Chose a luxuriant bath after a long walk or quick shower before dinner.

Derwent Cottage is a dog friendly 2 bedroom cottage in the heart of keswick, with parking.

Derwent Cottage is a contemporary town house within a quiet, residential courtyard a couple of minutes walk from the shopping area and within easy walking distance of Derwentwater, Theatre by the Lake and the fells beyond. The stylish, fresh interior and central location provide an excellent base for your holiday.

The front door leads into a bright hallway with coat hooks, a shoe storage area and stairs up to the bedrooms. The kitchen is light and airy and has a good range of well-equipped units , kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. Appliances include a refrigerator/freezer, washing machine/tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave, gas oven and hob, extractor hood and slow cooker.

The lounge/diner has a contemporary feel, with new sofa and two armchairs, a round glass dining table and four chairs. There is a wall mounted Smart TV, DAB radio with Bluetooth facility and full wi-fi access. Patio doors look out over a small lawned area and communal open gardens around Elm Court. There is a patio table and chairs for guests use. The grounds are often visited by the local ducks and pheasants from the nearby river bank.

The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail, new laminate flooring.

Bedrooms consist of one dual aspect master bedroom with super king size bed. The views stretch over the River Greta and beyond to Portinscale and Skiddaw. There is a lovely oak wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside Units. The twin bedroom has a built in wardrobe and small vanity unit. Luggage stands are available in both bedrooms. All beds have duvets and towels are provided, along with a hair dryer.

We can`t guarantee you will see a birth, as Mother Nature works to her own time, but we can arrange a photo with an Orphan lamb.

Please DO NOT visit the lambing shed by yourselves as strangers can upset the pregnant ewes. If you want to see them PLEASE ASK. We are happy to show you the Lambing Shed & tell you all about lambing time.

Brundholme House is a warm, welcoming house, sleeping 6, with parking, at the foot of Latrigg.

New onto the rental market, Brundholme House offers a perfect place to stay at any time of the year. It sleeps 6 and is ideal for family groups or friends to share.

As you enter the home, you will arrive at a well-sized entrance hall with tiled floors and excellent storage for coats and muddy boots. The open-plan living space is beautifully decorated and features a lovely stone fire surround, electric fire, Smart TV, and, from the window, beautiful views of Latrigg and Skiddaw.
The kitchen/diner has a dining table that seats six, an electric stove and oven, a fridge freezer, microwave and modern kitchen units. The patio doors lead out to the garden. There is also a utility room which includes a worktop, cupboards, sink, washing machine, and tumble dryer.

Upstairs, there is a beautiful sunroom with views of the garden and the surrounding fells. The sun room has patio doors that lead to a small wrap-around balcony. The bathroom includes a toilet, hand basin, and a bath with a shower over it. The bedrooms are set out as follows:

Bedroom 1 – with a king-size bed, Smart TV, and fitted wardrobes.

Bedroom 2 – Two single beds and fitted wardrobes.

Bedroom 3 – Bunk beds and a chest of drawers with hanging space above.

A travel cot and high chair is available on request.
The back garden is enclosed, with shrubs, a lawn area, and a garden table and chairs. The front has parking for two cars & EV charging which is charged separately via App/QR code.
Brundholme House is also dog friendly, up to 2 dogs at a cost of £25 per dog per stay.
