If you're seeking an extraordinary property for your holiday then look no further than Brandlehow. This private characterful cottage is positioned right on the edge of Derwentwater, with the Woods and Catbells behind, and even has a famous neighbour, the much loved Teddy in the Window! Being right on the water's edge and amongst some of the most picturesque scenery this property is ideal for adventure lovers and all things outdoors!The journey to this cottage is a wonderful experience in itself with stunning views on route, followed by a private access road through the woods to lead you to your holiday home.
On entering the property you'll be greeted by the farmhouse style kitchen with plenty of worktop space, fridge-freezer, double sinks, and stove. There is a dishwasher, however you may find yourself volunteering to do the washing up just to admire the amazing views over Derwentwater! The large dining table makes this the perfect space to gather together with family and friends to socialise and dine. The utility off the kitchen provides plenty of space for boots and coats, and has a washing machine and dryer.
Pass through the spacious hallway, where there is access to the garden, to find yourself in the homely living room with leather sofas, wall mounted TV and cosy log burning stove. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, two king bedrooms, one double and one single bedroom, all well furnished with solid furniture, quality Lake District artwork, and with beds dressed in luxury crisp linen. The master bedroom has the added bonus of a wall mounted TV and also an ensuite shower room. The modern family bathroom is conveniently positioned between the bedrooms and has a bath with shower over. There are two areas upstairs on the landings with seating, one of which also has a desk, where you can escape to take a quiet moment and admire the views.
Despite how lovely the house is, the enclosed garden with fire pit is most likely going to be where you'll spend most of your time! Deer Close Cottage
Step inside this romantic retreat for two and you will immediately feel right at home. This welcoming Lakeland Cottage is accessed via the large doorway from the patio area, which leads into the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining room.
This light and airy room makes the perfect space to cook and dine with delightful views looking toward the fells and Borrowdale Valley. The inviting lounge has comfortable seating, wall-mounted smart TV, and double aspect windows. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer shelf, dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of cookware. There is a useful utility room which houses the washer-dryer.
The lovely bedroom has a superking-size bed (can be made up as twin on request) with luxury crisp white bed linen, plenty of storage space, and views either side to the nearby woods and field. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, ideal for relaxing tired muscles after a day out exploring, a recessed washbasin and a handy heated towel rail.
There are two pretty patio areas, both with seating. On warmer days these are the ideal spots to gaze at the surroundings and soak up the beauty of this isolated setting.The cottage makes the ideal base for both nature and adventure seekers, as well as those who like the convenience of town amenities nearby. There is an abundance of choice when it comes to walking routes from the doorstep including Derwentwater lakeside and the fells. There is designated lockable storage for bikes and equipment.
Lords Seat
Enjoying a quiet, unspoilt rural location the Swan Hotel, a former 17th century coaching inn has been sympathetically converted into several quality apartments. On the edge of the village of Thornthwaite, within five minutes walking distance of Bassenthwaite Lake and surrounded by delightful scenery it is the ideal location for a relaxing break.
The property is entered via shared entrance hall and stairs. Entering the hallway there is hanging space and storage for outdoor gear. From here you find the fitted kitchen with fridge, freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave oven, washing machine and tumble dryer. The solid wood Pippy Oak units are of a high quality with granite worktops with small breakfast bar and views to Barf and Whinlatter.

The stunning new kitchen is sure to make cooking a pleasure and comes fully fitted with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, a microwave, a washing machine, tumble dryer and a selection of cookbooks. There is plenty of worktop and cupboard space. Directly off the kitchen is a large outside patio deck with seating, overlooking the fabulous gardens and the breathtaking views beyond.
